In Conversation with Milam & Jon - A New Dawn in Dhaka
08 March 2025
After August 5, 2024, Bangladesh entered a new political landscape following the mass uprising that led to a dramatic shift in governance. The fall of the previous regime reshaped domestic politics, diplomacy, and Bangladesh’s international standing. As the country navigates this transition, questions arise about its evolving relationship with the United States, particularly in terms of diplomatic engagement, governance, security cooperation, and strategic positioning in the Indo-Pacific region.
To explore these critical issues, the Centre for Governance Studies (CGS) is organizing "In Conversation with Milam & Jon" on the topic “A New Dawn in Dhaka: Navigating the Dynamics of Bangladesh–U.S. Relations After the Mass Uprising.”
The discussion will feature Ambassador William B. Milam, Former U.S. Ambassador to Bangladesh, with opening remarks by Jon F. Danilowicz, Former U.S. Diplomat. This interactive session will provide valuable insights into Bangladesh–U.S. relations in the wake of recent political changes. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with distinguished speakers through a moderated discussion and Q&A session.
