As you are aware, Bangladesh has long been criticized for a variety of human rights violations, including Enforced Disappearances. The topic has received considerable national and international attention over the last decade. According to the reports of different human rights organizations, 31 people were enforcedly disappeared only in 2020 and the total number is 587 in between 2009 to 2020. In order to highlight and discuss this issue, the Centre for Governance Studies is organizing a webinar, titled “Enforced Disappearance and the State” on Thursday, 10th February 2022 at 10.00 A.M.

The discussants of the webinar will be Ashim Kumar Ukil MP, Banlgadesh Awami League, Harunur Rashid MP, Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Professor Dr. Habibe Millat MP, Bangladesh Awami League, Dr. Shahdeen Malik, Senior Advocate, Bangladesh Supreme Court, Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Chief Executive of Bangladesh Environment Lawyers Association(BELA), Md Nur Khan, General Secretary, Executive Committee of Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) and Dr. Manjur Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman of Centre for Governance Studies and others. 

The program will be hosted by the Executive Director of CGS Zillur Rahman.
