Afsana Mimi is a postgraduate student in international relations at Jahangirnagar University, with interests in human rights, climate issues, peace and conflict, governance, and public policy. She has been involved in social-impact initiatives focused on disadvantaged children and youth and girls' education and also environmental issues.  Her work focuses on women’s and children’s rights and access to education. She is currently researching international conventions and domestic laws concerning children’s rights, with a focus on identifying institutional gaps through qualitative research methods, including interviews, case studies, and thematic analysis. Her broader interests include peacebuilding, conflict, genocide, and human rights.
