Mamun Rashid (born 29 August 1961) is a distinguished Bangladeshi institution builder, business leader, economic analyst, and management professional with extensive expertise across wholesale banking, corporate and commercial banking, investment banking, financial institutions, treasury and global markets, and public sector financing. He also brings significant experience in corporate restructuring, business re-engineering, technology transformation, and risk management.

Born in Comilla, Rashid was a cadet of Faujdarhat Cadet College. He secured 7th position in the SSC and 2nd position in the HSC Social Science merit list under the Comilla Education Board. He completed his BSc (Hons.) and Master's degree in Economics from Jahangirnagar University and subsequently earned an MBA in Strategic Management from Henley Business School, UK.

Throughout his career, Rashid has undertaken macro audits and portfolio reviews across several countries in Asia, Europe, and Africa. He has also maintained a strong engagement with academia for more than two decades, teaching management, strategic management, service marketing, strategic marketing, commercial banking, and entrepreneurship as an adjunct faculty member, adjunct professor, and full-time professor.

His professional interests encompass the financial sector—including capital markets, life insurance, SME financing, and infrastructure financing—as well as pharmaceuticals and other major business sectors. He has expressed a particular interest in leading global organizations in sectors such as life insurance, telecommunications, FMCG, and healthcare services.

Rashid has led a global Big Four professional services firm for the past six years, making significant contributions to government transformation and reform, revenue reform, corporate finance, and automation and technology modernization of local enterprises.

An accomplished author and thought leader, Rashid has authored 15 books on contemporary business and economic issues. He has also been a regular columnist on business and economics for more than 35 years, contributing his insights and analysis to discussions on Bangladesh's business, financial, and economic landscape.
