Kazi Shams Mohsin Rhid is the Strategy Coordinator at the Centre for Governance Studies (CGS) Bangladesh. He investigates the intersection of political instability, climate crises, and human security. Holding an Honor’s and Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Dhaka, he now contributes to various projects funded by National Endowment for Democracy (NED), Centre for International and Private Enterprises (CIPE), Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ), The Asia Foundation (TAF).

His fieldwork interviewing policymakers and grassroot communities has informed publications like a co-authored analysis of the ousting of the former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Climate Report for Global-Up-To-Date, which critiques elite capture of adaptation resources. Rhid’s research interrogates how governance failures in South Asia deepen vulnerability to climate disasters, blending institutional analysis with advocacy for equitable policy. Aspiring to bridge academia and practice, he seeks to advance frameworks that empower marginalized voices in global climate governance.
