Global Directions Conclave
In the current global landscape, the world is undergoing a transformative phase characterized by shifts in power dynamics, challenges such as pandemics, and a pervasive sense of uncertainty caused by protracted war and trade disputes. The ideals of globalization, once held in high regard, have encountered setbacks due to the actions and inactions of various stakeholders. In this evolving environment, the imperative for leadership centered on human values cannot be overstated. To narrate the significance of leadership in this contemporary world, The Centre for Governance Studies (CGS) is set to host the inaugural edition of the Global Directions Conclave (GDC) in Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, we will announce the final date of the event very soon.
The Global Directions Conclave (GDC) is an annual intensive ten-days policy workshop organized by the Centre for Governance Studies (CGS). Each year, the conclave will bring together 50 outstanding young leaders, between 28 and 35 years of age, from diverse backgrounds, geographies, and sectors. The young leaders will be nominated by heads of governments, leaders of private sector and global experts. The proposed conclave aims to bring together leaders worldwide for a comprehensive 10-day program encompassing debates, plenary sessions, site visiting, cultural activities, idea sharing, discussion and simulation games.
The aim of the Conclave is to foster leadership qualities among the selected fellows, to engage them in discussions on issues that are trending worldwide, and to serve as a networking platform. Through cross-border dialogue, deliberations and debates with prominent figures from the world of politics, business and academia, fellows of the Conclave will get opportunities to assess as well as challenge conventional interpretations of the global challenges.
