The Chattogram session of CGS’s fact-checking programme took place on 27 July 2025 at Hotel Agrabad, Chattogram. The workshop was part of CGS’s continued initiative to support journalists in identifying misinformation and strengthening accuracy in reporting.

Participants from national and regional media outlets joined the session to learn about digital verification tools, source-checking methods, and practical techniques for assessing online claims. The workshop addressed the growing challenges created by social media misinformation, manipulated visuals, and the rapid circulation of unverified content.

The session placed particular emphasis on the professional responsibility of journalists in a fast-moving information environment. Participants discussed how newsrooms can balance speed with accuracy and how verification skills can help prevent the spread of false narratives.

The Chattogram workshop also added regional perspectives to CGS’s broader work on misinformation and fact-checking in Bangladesh. Through discussion and practical learning, the event encouraged journalists to apply stronger verification standards in their reporting.
